FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH GRAPELAND

We love because God first loved us!

- 1 John 4:19

First Loves Helping!

Be ye doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves       - James 1:22

As members of the congregation, we’re sent into the community to serve those in need and to make our community more loving and just. We believe that the Holy Spirit empowers and guides us in these ministries and that wherever there’s need and suffering, we meet Christ, already at work. But still, we cannot be effective in ministry on our own. So the congregation exists, in part, to surround and support each member in his or her ministry. Excerpt from The United Methodist Member’s Handbook by George Koehler (Discipleship Resources, Rev. 2006), p. 10-11.

First Loves Radio Program airs on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. on local radio station 93.5 FM.  Listen to our 30 minute program when you are unable to attend our service on Sunday mornings.

The Love Circle Women have always played an important role in our church.  The Love Circle has a number of missions among which are the annual Burrito Sale and the Labor Day Weekend Rummage Sale.  They recently sponsored the free Lental Luncheons during Holy Week, which featured speakers and light lunches.

The Outreach Committee is responsible for numerous projects, including food baskets for local families at Thanksgiving and Christmas and the inspiring He is Risen! crosses seen around Grapeland this Lental Season.

He Is Risen......And It Is Finished!

First Loves to Share Each month members of the congregation gather items to donate to the S.H.A.R.E. ministry in Crockett.
