Grapeland is home to one of the finest public school systems in the County. Grapeland Independent School District consists of 3 campuses: The Elementary Campus, grades Pre-Kindergarten - 5th Grade; The Junior High Campus, 6th grade - 8th grade; and the High School Campus, 9th grade - 12th grade. Aside from being one of the town's major sources of employment, it is an institution where children will receive an education that they need to get ahead in life.

Grapeland students are privileged to have teachers that care about the students, and can work with them one-to-one.  At all three campuses children are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities, such as U.I.L. Competitions, Band, Art, Music, Football, Basketball, Track & Field, Volleyball, Softball, Basketball, Challenge of the Minds, F.F.A.. F.H.A., and many others.
